Brody Rivers Punches His Golden Ticket to Hollywood on American Idol
Rio Hondo native Brody Rivers has had a hell of a year. From having a weekly residency at Tipsy Tavern (Harlingen) to staying booked every weekend with shows, and more recently, going out to Arlington to attend the Texas Regional Radio Music Awards Show. He currently has a song on Texas Regional Radio called “Buying My Way to Debt” which is charting at #86. He released a new EP in February called “Stepping Stones”. If you asked him what he thinks his highlight of the year is, he might mention that he just got his golden ticket at American Idol. Brody Rivers is going to Hollywood!
Rustic Rose and Nicholas Ben & The Bay Drinkers Release New Collaborative Cover
Rustic Rose alongside Nicholas Ben & the Bay Drinkers are releasing a new song off of their “Church Pew Sessions''. This was a collaboration when the band from Bishop, TX reached out to Rustic Rose after discovering them on social media. The first track from the session will be released on Tuesday with more new music expected in the upcoming weeks including covers and original music.
UTRGV Marching Band Makes Historic Debut Performance
The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley (UTRGV) Marching Band recently made history with their first-ever performance. The band, consisting of 150 students, took to the field during the Pigskin Jubilee this past weekend and wowed the crowd with their music and talent.

Meet Cheyenne, an up-and-coming band based out of Alamo, Texas. Since their first public show in April 2023, the group has played in all parts of the RGV and are working to establish themselves as a must-see group in South Texas.

Kikker Daddy Legacy is set to make their official debut performance at the Country Music Association of Texas Awards Show on October 18, 2023. The CMA of Texas Awards will also be honoring the legacy of Country Roland with the presentation of the Hispanic Heritage Lifetime Achievement Award. This prestigious award will highlight the incredible contributions that his music left on the community.

Folk/Americana singer-songwriter Joel Brogon announced the release of his new album “Songs of Family and Home: The Complete Collection” this past month! Joel currently lives in Harlingen, Texas and has been making waves in the music community since he started releasing original music in August 2021.
RGV Music Therapy Establishes Music Therapy in the Rio Grande Valley
RGV Music Therapy is the first center for music therapy in the Rio Grande Valley. Since it opened its doors in 2017, it has grown to become a team of 18 board certified music therapists and recreational therapists who provide specialized therapy across South Texas.

The RGV Jazz Collective is playing a vital role in promoting and supporting jazz music in the Rio Grande Valley. Noe Saenz Takes the RGV to NYC
Meet Noe Saenz, a gifted singer-songwriter born and raised in Brownsville, Texas. Since 2018, he has been releasing original music, including his EP "Pint-Sized Songs of Love", which features his voice and ukulele, and a pop EP "I've Got a Lover". Noe has also released singles "One Thing That Remains", "Lo Mein", "Si Una Vez (Live from El Hueso de Fraile)", “Hideaway”, and the most streamed release to date, "Unwanted". Noe has created quite the buzz since his move to NYC.

El Hueso de Fraile Brings Music, Culture, and Community to Downtown Brownsville
El Hueso de Fraile has truly cultivated a music community downtown Brownsville. Since they opened their doors, Hueso has welcomed musicians from diverse musical genres including jazz, pop, cultural folk music, r&b, and everything in between!
Hueso hosts musicians every Tuesday through Sunday and creates a warm, welcoming atmosphere for listeners and fellow musicians. Hueso offers a platform for musicians to showcare their talent and collaborate with other local artists. The diverse range of genres played at Hueso has helped to attract a wide audience, making it a hub for music lovers of all tastes and backgrounds.
